The EU AI Act entered into force on August 1, 2024

Regulation (EU) 2024/1689, the Artificial Intelligence Act, was published in the Official Journal of the European Union on 12 July 2024. According to the European Commission, it entered into force on 1 August 2024, with its provisions applying on a phased schedule that runs through 2 August 2026.
