On June 7, 2026, NVIDIA and SK hynix announced a multiyear technology partnership to co-develop next-generation memory for the global AI factory buildout. The agreement spans NVIDIA’s forward product roadmap, with SK hynix supplying memory for the Vera Rubin AI supercomputer platform, the Vera CPU, the RTX Spark personal AI computer, and the Jetson Thor robotics platform. NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang said advanced memory is essential to the performance of AI factories.
Beyond memory supply, the two companies said they would apply AI to chip design and manufacturing itself, using NVIDIA CUDA-X libraries and the PhysicsNeMo framework to accelerate semiconductor simulation and workflows. SK hynix is also building digital twins of its fabrication plants with NVIDIA Omniverse, OpenUSD, and cuOpt to enable more autonomous fab operations through agentic AI systems. The announcement was part of a wider group-wide alliance unveiled with SK Group in Seoul.
The deal is a real-world deployment of AI both as a product and as a manufacturing tool. Locking in a memory supplier across NVIDIA’s entire roadmap addresses one of the tightest bottlenecks in scaling AI compute, while the fab digital-twin and AI-assisted chip-design work shows the same technology being used to build the hardware that runs it.
