On June 17, 2026, Stellantis, Wayve, and Uber announced a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding to jointly develop and deploy Level 4 (fully driverless) robotaxis at global scale. Stellantis would design and manufacture vehicles on its “L4-Ready” platforms with embedded sensors and safety redundancy; Wayve supplies AI driving software that the companies say can navigate without city-by-city mapping; and Uber would deploy the vehicles through its ride-hailing app.
The partners frame the work as covering vehicle integration, testing, validation, and deployment across Europe, North America, and beyond. No firm completion timeline was given for the new three-way collaboration.
The announcement builds on an existing Wayve-Uber deployment effort the companies describe as underway in London, Tokyo, and ten other cities starting this year.
