On June 11, 2026, Waymo announced Waymo Premier, a paid membership program for the riders who use its autonomous ride-hailing service most. The company described Premier as “a new invite-only membership program built for those who rely on us most,” positioning it as a loyalty tier on top of standard per-ride pricing.
The membership costs 29.99 dollars per month and bundles several perks: priority matching for faster pickups, 10 percent Waymo Cash back on every trip, early access to Waymo service in new cities, and up to five free cancellations a month. At launch it is invite-only and offered to select riders in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Phoenix. Waymo said it plans to extend Premier to more riders and more cities over time.
The move marks a shift from Waymo proving that driverless rides work to building recurring commercial relationships with frequent users. A monthly subscription with cash-back and priority features is the kind of retention mechanic ride-hailing incumbents have long used, applied here to a fully autonomous fleet. It signals that Waymo now treats robotaxi service as a maturing consumer business with loyalty economics, not just a technology demonstration.
