Yoshua Bengio

Yoshua Bengio is a full professor of computer science at the Universite de Montreal and the founder of Mila, the Quebec Artificial Intelligence Institute in Montreal. His official homepage describes him as the most-cited AI researcher and an A.M. Turing Award recipient, noting he received the 2018 Turing Award.

Bengio is one of the principal architects of modern deep learning, with foundational contributions to neural language models, attention mechanisms, and generative models. By building Mila into one of the world’s largest academic deep learning groups, he helped train a generation of researchers.
